Research Interests: Forest ecology and dendrochronology. My research aims at understanding environmental influences on tree growth. In the last years, I am focusing on climate effects on xylem anatomical traits on both conifers and broadleaves in different environmental settings, from the Alps to the Mediterranean.Handaxes for example are found in some assemblages stratigraphically dated to the middle palaeolithic and associated with Neanderthals.A development was to abandon type fossils but use collections of tools by counting the numbers of different types in an assemblage particular the devolopment of cumulative graphs predominantly used by Francois Bordes. This content is available through Read Online (Free) program, which relies on page scans.Since scans are not currently available to screen readers, please contact JSTOR User Support for access.
In my previous work I used polarized Raman Spectroscopy and other analytical methods for a comprehensive analysis of the Temple Scroll (DSS collection). Thus, we have taken samples from ≃30 mummies, distributed in 8 museums around France, and also from different textiles or plants near or on the bodies. The results and conclusions show the importance of dating mummies in a museum context.Research Interests: Chronologies in archaeological research based on radiocarbon dating.
Archaeological context characterization for radiocarbon dating using microarchaeology methods. Research Interests: AMS radiocarbon dating - research, operation and maintenance. For example finding a handaxe was used to interpret the culture as Acheulian and date the find to the lower Palaeolithic.
