Ms word table of figures not updating

I have a large word document with quite a few tables and figures.

I have created a List of Tables and a List of Figures, but both of them are missing quite a few captions.

This is because MS Word is capturing all the text using the style 15 Caption Figure, 16 Caption Table or 16a Caption Object.

Unfortunately this is not something that can be prevented in Microsoft Word, so you will have to remove those words manually from the LOT and LOF using the following technique.

Problem: You updated your List of Figures/Tables and notice that some or all of the entries are missing.

Although a Table of Contents will update to match the actual contents “automatically”, you have to tell it to do so.w=645&h=365 645w, w=150&h=85 150w, w=300&h=170 300w, w=768&h=435 768w, w=1024&h=579 1024w," sizes="(max-width: 645px) 100vw, 645px" / This will give you a menu – you need to select Update Field: update contents page word – update field " data-medium-file=" w=300" data-large-file=" w=645&h=431" alt="update contents page - update field" width="645" height="431" srcset=" w=405" class="aligncenter wp-image-10174 size-full" style="border:1px solid #000000;" src="
